I was on my way to the office this morning performing my typical morning music discovery ritual, i hopped on the tube and suddenly "Trojans" by Atlas Genius started playing.
From the very beginning, the song caught my attention with its catchy intro riff and by the time the song reached the chorus I was hooked. I played the same song all the way to work dissecting every little snippet of the song.
"Trojans" is the lead single of Australian quartet Atlas Genius, a band composed of pop-architecture students that seamlessly compose a very very catchy style of music. Their style is a combination of the acoustic rock sounds that remind you of Coldplay with the effervescent rock funkiness of Phoenix, add the guitar driven sounds of The Strokes into the mix and the result is Atlas Genius.
There is no doubt that "Trojans" is one of the catchiest songs I've heard so far in what has gone by of 2013. I'm gonna give everyone readying this a warning, because this song is gonna invade your head and creep into your ears in stealth mode, next thing you know, you'll be humming to the tune of it. Once this happens, you'll wish the song never leaves. I hope you enjoy.
PS: i'll be drafting out the review of their album soon! Let me know what you think in the comment section below!
