Austenyo (a.k.a Austen Scheer) blends groovy basslines, smooth synths, and memorable hooks, which delivers a refreshing take on homemade pop music.

The 22-year-old Metro Detroit native grew up listening to his parents' definitive catalog of music, combined with his brother's eclectic tastes, which has given him the conviction to form a truly unique musical style.

But for today we'll be focusing more on the premiere of his new single, "Off-Kilter".

"Off-Kilter" is built around an unexpected yet groovy bassline, layers of hypnotic vocals and peculiar sound effects. The track offers another captivating vignette of austenyo's sonic and visual palate.

“Making music should be fun and fast, because nothing feels quite as nice as quickly capturing and listening to a fleeting idea.” – austenyo

"Off-Kilter"'s music video was dreamed up whilst in the company of friends. Everything was improvised and filmed on, and around, Lake Charlevoix in Northen Michigan. Incorporating a variety of scenery, wardrobe and dance moves, Off-Kilter embraces its namesake.

Austenyo’s philosophy on portraying his vision is centered around not just creating endearing music but also the use of creative and well thought out visuals. We are able to really understand the artistic vision and direction through austenyo’s quirky and DIY music videos. This unique artist has proven to be a true up and comer in the bedroom pop and indie pop music scene.
