It's been a minute since I've indulged myself with the gorgeous music of Caoilfhionn Rose. The Manchester-based singer and songwriter came on my radar back in 2018 when she released "Awaken" where she tied together remnants of Manchester’s musical past with its evolving present. With a diverse musical palate, her influences span from The Mummers and Polly Paulusma to Broadcast, Rachel Sermanni, Peter Broderick, and beyond.

"Rainfall" comes after a period of quietness by Caoilfhionn, which I am sure was much needed. To reflect and build experiences that later on she can channel via those gorgeous accords and her soothing, aerial voice. When it comes to the new single, which is just the first of many this year, she shares "A meditative song on feeling lots of mixed emotions and letting them all wash over you like rain, letting them come and go. In the rain falls, I feel it all."

Listening to this makes me feel thankful to life for bringing such music into my life.

And even though I've covered this in a previous post - for those who wonder, it's pronounced Keelin.
