I think I've said this before, but bearface's "taste my sad" is probably the soundtrack of my 20s. I first discovered the then-19-year-old Belfast-born producer back in 2012, just before launching Stereofox, while looking to dig deeper into the world of artists like XXYYXX, Ruddyp, and Carling Ruse. So much has happened since then. Bearface went into oblivion, and Ciarán joined BROCKHAMPTON, which led to some well-deserved fame, tours, and whatnot.
Since July, he has been teasing new audio and video snippets via his website ciar-an.co. The second single from the upcoming album, "Galvarino", went live today, and I have to say - I really dig the new sound. It has a hopeless nostalgia wrapped in glitchy alt/emo vibe. Most importantly - his vocals truly shine on this one!
Róisín is scheduled for release on November 9th via Ninja Tune. Already on our Upcoming Albums of 2026 excitement list.
