On Ciarán's latest release, "Houston", retro soul and gospel are tastefully intertwined with a modern aesthetic that makes his sound feel quite breathtaking on here.
With his enigmatic aura and heartfelt vocals, Ciarán (former BROCKHAMPTON member) has generated so much hype around the release of his upcoming album Róisín. "Houston" offers a glimpse into what we can expect throughout this new body of work. The mood strikes a fine balance between hopeless and uplifting, especially since the delivery is filled with sorrow while the lyrics offer a loving appeal. One of the key features that make this release so special is definitely the instrumentation - it holds the same warmth of soul classics from yesteryear, plus the swing in the rhythm provides quite a slick groove.
Róisín is scheduled for release on November 9th via Ninja Tune. Already on our Upcoming Albums of 2026 excitement list, and Ivo covered "Galvarino".
