Slovenia-born producer consule is someone who doesn't shy away from experimentation. His sound represents a lush blend of emotive compositions that blend indie electronica and cinematic post-rock, all tastefully enhanced with warm ambient textures, evoking a sense of nostalgia and hope. As someone who loves post-rock but constantly seeks variety, this hits the right spot.

Today, I wanted to spotlight a track from consule and .alome's joint EP, redefine, released a few days ago, on August 28th. The first time I heard the song, I was in uncontrollable awe. I played this on repeat and got sucked into a hypnotic sonic hole of nostalgia and hope. I loved it.

The song is a great finisher of the EP as it closes out with these repeating melodies slowly being stretched, pitch-shifted, and run through a tape machine, creating this beautifully woozy sense of movement. As "still here" unfolds, noisy textures creep in, and tape delays add even more depth, making for a fitting, slightly hazy goodbye to the record.

I highly recommend listening to the full redefine EP.

A wonderful opener for our ADHD Focus Music playlist.
