Cordelia Fox is one of the most gentle and expansive voices in modern soul. To this day, the Massachusetts-based singer's 2024 release "It's Coming Round" is one of my go-to sonic escapes when I need to ease my mind.

Today we spotlight a song taken from her 2026 EP, PUSH&PULL. The first time I "Give Me Mercy", I thought of Solange's "Cranes in the Sky" - maybe because of the beautifully atmospheric energy oozing off this alt r&b gem. A track about feeling lost with someone and lost without them, the song will enchant you, and 5 minutes will feel like a fleeting moment. Inspired by contemporaries like Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, and Charlotte Day Wilson, it features Cordelia's intricate vocal layers juxtaposed against wide guitars and spacious synths. What I loved the most was not only the soulful songwriting, but how nicely it blends with immersive electronic production, making this one of those standout tracks that stay in your life for a long, long time.

Heavily underrated, Cordelia Fox is someone the world should be paying attention to.
