Daily Bread is among the producers who's prospered in the space of sample-based electronic hip hop. A space that is claimed to have been opened up wide by Colorado producer Pretty Lights, who remains on an extended sabbatical from music. Despite the lineage, Daily Bread remains a unique force within this realm of introspective party tunes.
It's not just the impressive pace at which Daily Bread releases high-quality music, but that all of his works embody themes and companionship to previous material. On top of that, the Daily Bread platform exhibits an artistic extension through the artwork, mixes, live streams, and merch he releases. Our impression of this artist is that he works extremely hard to push passion into action, while keeping our heads nodding along.
It feels a bit like giving away the ending of a movie by sharing this closing track of his EP Purple Clouds. However, it represents elements of the Daily Bread ethos worth appreciating: euphoric melodies and sample overlays with zero hesitation to throw in some wonky bass.
