One year ago, we were thrilled to premiere a track titled "Rewind" by the NYC rapper Dami. Back then, it was clear to us that this was just the beginning of his musical journey. We had a feeling he was destined for greatness, and we knew our paths would cross again at just the right moment. But what brings us together today, and is always a cause for celebration, is his music, because it's not just good; it's downright amazing. And with time, it keeps getting better.
Now, let's talk about his latest creation: "mommahouse". It's the opening track from his brand-new 5-piece Almost Home EP which came out a week ago (plus 5 days). Although this track is a little over two minutes long, the waves of nostalgia, the heartfelt storytelling, and the way he weaves words and thoughts together hit you so profoundly that you can't resist hitting that replay button.
The whole EP is a soothing blend of boom-bap and hip-hop grooves, soulful melodies, and some seriously smooth, hard-hitting bars, all masterfully delivered by Dami.
