Right at the end of the workweek, here comes a groovy, soulful hip hop piece, with an oldschool-scratch touch and a smooth flow from Dami, our new fav NYC rapper.
"Rewind", which we're delighted to premiere, has this ultra-catchy vibe that makes you nod your head, but with some thought-provoking bars that really get to you - about peer pressure & how society's opinion reflects on us.
Dami shares: "I made Rewind at 4 in the morning in my bedroom. I never wrote down the hook I just put it together in my head while recording and wrote verses afterward. The song is essentially about how I'm at a point where I've let go of my deep attachment to others' perceptions, the fear of missing out, and a need for control. But despite this and finally feeling comfortable in my own skin, I still feel powerless over time and constantly live in fear of wasting it".
"Rewind" comes after his 2021 debut album The Bounce Back, which is also worth checking out.
