Immerse yourself in the dreamy, multi-layered world of “Ocean In A Drop” by US producer, composer, and vocalist emawk (Kwame Nkrumah), that pulls you in with a chill jazzhop groove, warm textures, and soulful harmonies that hit just the right emotions.

This was my first time discovering emawk’s music, and I was happy to find out he’s been a Stereofox favourite for years now. It seems like he can naturally move between any style — from lo-fi, jazzhop, and groove-infused productions to soul, r&b, rap, and touching songwriting.

Through my research, I also discovered his collaboration with guitarist/producer and long-time Stereofox friend Peyotoff - “Jay Bird” (released on our label), with production by Peyotoff and lyrics & vocals by emawk, and I was fully in love. Such beautiful storytelling, vocal performance, and production - an absolute soul/r&b gem that deserves to be brought back to the spotlight.

Back to today's feature - even the title “Ocean In A Drop” is an interesting word play in itself. We usually hear the phrase “a drop in the ocean” as something small or insignificant, but this track flips that perspective, reminding us that even the smallest moments, actions, or emotions can hold incredible depth and impact. And that's the message of the track - depth of experience, finding purpose in small acts, and learning to give ourselves a little more patience and love.
