In many ways, the latest release of eventuual reminds us of the the Soundcloud era when some of the most avant-garde beats were being created by the new wave of underground producers.
eventuual is the slower, more experimental alias of U.S.-based dance music producer yeong. He started this project for an emotive escape and sonic freedom, and we can tell since there is even a noticeable difference in the mood we're acquainted with across both projects. The fierce new track "You Don't Want Me and It's Obvious" carries a somewhat dark, melancholic soundscape while the vocals feel ironically romantic thanks to the themes of longing. I loved how the slick trap drums intertwined with eventuual's sound design too, as it's quite reminiscent of favorites like XXXYYXXX and the early works of Sam Gellaitry.
