FAKE SUEDE is the brainchild of Nashville-to-LA-based songwriter and vocalist Jeffrey James, and with this project, he aims to balance the vibes of neo-soul and classic Motown with modern bedroom pop. This is exactly what we're acquainted with on "Growing Apart", especially as the chorus comes to life. His vocals in this section remind us of a different era while the instrumentals hit the sweet spot between modernity and retro warmth. Smooth, airy synths float lightly across the background to complement his soothing vocal performance throughout. This is really one of my favorite finds this week!
