Ghostnaut is one of the artists we've been following for a really long time (2018, to be precise). And I actually know him from his releases with the New Zealand hip-hop band Raw Collective (highly recommend checking out my all-time fav "Homies").
Today, the Canadian-born keyboardist and producer is back to Stereofox Records for his second release, and a debut EP, together with frequent collaborator, French guitarist Lunath.
“The Crossing was created during a pivotal transition in my life, as I prepared to leave Canada and relocate to Portugal. It carries a strong sense of nostalgia, blended with chilled, jazzy, and soulful textures that lean into both reflection and renewal,” he shared.
In the 4-track EP, you'll also find chill beats, slick guitars, and warm keys, with additional lush trumpets from Ottawa's Fred Paci on two of the songs. I'm highlighting the opening track "Depart", also featuring South Korean producer softy, but you should embark on the full journey (pun intended).
