I've got the perfect treat for any Jon Hopkins, Christian Löffler, and Parra For Cuva fan out there.

Gryr's new single "Glänta" is taken from his upcoming EP scheduled for release via Pølaroit's own imprint NORR and it's the perfect electronica fairy tale that will transform you to the Northern lands of Europe.

This is the first time I stumble upon Gryr's music, but I was instantly mind-blown by the texture and progression of his new track. The talented musician credits his upbringing on a small island in the archipelago for the unique sound of his music and I absolutely belive that your surroundings shape you as an artist. Jonathan describes his music as a journey back to his roots - a nostalgic reflection of his childhood experiences. He reminisces about walking along the cliffs near the ocean, listening, watching, and feeling the dark and powerful force of Mother Nature and I cannot picture a better setting to experience "Glänta".

"Glänta is a Swedish word that translates to "glade" in English. The word refers to a clearing in a forest, a space where trees have been cut down to allow light to filter through, creating an open and often peaceful area amidst the surrounding wilderness. Gryr´s music often evokes the natural world, and in this new single, he captures the sense of serenity and stillness that can be found in a glade. The music is both calming and uplifting.", share the NORR team.

I was super stoked to discover that while the Gryr moniker is relatively new, Jonathan had been a member of one of my favourite post-rock acts Immanu El and DNKL who we've featured before. These acts have gained significant attention from The Guardian, Highsnobiety, and The Fader. Gryr has also performed on numerous notable stages such as Boiler Room, Roskilde, SXSW, and Way Out West, as well as being a supporting act for established musicians such as Com Truise and Tycho.

I was so happy when I found this track and can't wait to explore more. An exquisite sonic experience.
