To be honest, before I heard the track I couldn't entirely bring myself to take it seriously. Mainly because the name seems like a play on indie pop band "Vampire Weekend".

Although one minute into the track, Jenny's voice and abilities on the guitar changed all this and I was left captivated. Particularly in the later stages of the track where anticipation slightly builds, then out of the blue we're acquainted with drums heavy enough to shake the room. I really loved that juxtaposition between her sweet and somewhat passive vocal delivery and the frantic instrumentation.

Currently, Youngs lives in Los Angeles and writes songs with and for other artists; she has co-written songs by Pitbull, Ingrid Michaelson, and the Panic! at the Disco hit "High Hopes"
