Sydney's MAKAW is the kind of an artist that we have started the whole Stereofox thing for. Under 100 likes on Facebook, extremely talented and worthy all the possible attention.
Her first release "Tell Me Why" was uploaded on Triple J Unearthed just 2 days ago and it has immediately gotten the attention from the guys there. At this point I really want to hear more music from MAKAW. If next releases are going to be anywhere close to the quality and sound of this first track, a lot of great things will be coming MAKAW's way. Also isn't this the best bio you've seen in a while?
Makaw is my musical place where I get lost. Inspired by electronic landscapes and the want to tell the naked truth, this project finds its home somewhere between the sound worlds of Portishead, Feist, Thom Yorke and Lykke Li. Songwriting for me is diving into what lies below the surface of our everyday and telling those unwritten stories. It is a place for desire, the truth and for what really drives us. It is these stories and finding a sonic home to match them that has inspired and continues to propel me to create.
