If you keep an eye on our blog, you are definitely familiar with Momoko Gill. The UK self-taught drummer, producer, songwriter, and singer released the album Momoko in early 2026. I would describe this album as very diverse, and there is one song that definitely stood out to me.

"When Palestine Is Free" is a title that instantly catches one's eye. It is a heavy message that carries a lot of meaning in the context of the song. I think that, with what is happening in the world nowadays, a huge number of people have lost their voice or are afraid to publicly share their perspective, and honestly, I totally get them. It has become dangerous to have a clear position.

The structure of the song is very colourful. It starts with some heavy lyrics, and I really like how Momoko Gill uses metaphors in her lyrics. She gently introduces the wind instruments before the choir, which I think makes the song even more powerful. After that comes a trumpet solo, accompanied by some drums, until she closes the circle with the choir.

I hope that this song reminds people of the importance of keeping their voice and not being afraid of speaking up.
