Rushkeys delivers his first release of the year and enchants us on his rendition of muuju's "odeon" - a moody release filled with warm analog textures and gripping melodic layers.
It's been so beautiful to see how Andreas Schütz (one half of the French duo il:lo) has been so openly collaborative with his new moniker muuju. Given that both the sound of Rushkeys and muuju overlap, this union is quite fitting in many ways. The remix remains faithful to the tender emotional essence of "Odeon" while introducing a driving, UKG-inspired rhythm that also seems to enhance its cinematic appeal. This becomes truly evident towards the second half, especially when additional layers are included to heighten the track's immersive atmosphere.
"Originally featured on muuju’s debut EP bedforms, “Odeon” was written as a reflection on memory, change and a transformative encounter in Paris’ Place de l’Odéon. Rushkeys’ remix builds on these themes, carrying the original’s intimate emotional tone into a dreamy and rhythmically driven melodic electronica setting," shares muuju.
