Hi, friend, you just found the universe where Frank Ocean makes drone ambient. At least this was the first thing that came to my mind as soon as I heard Purelink's new single, "Barrons Hotel (I, To, Thee.)" featuring Rainy Miller.

I fell in love with Purelink when I discovered their album Faith, and my fascination with the Brooklyn-based trio hasn't stopped ever since. This love is further solidified because of their collab with a multidisciplinary artist and producer, Rainy Miller, whose music is a universe on its own. He dwells in the nordic gothic (as self-described) space where atmospheric and introspective meet.

There’s a quiet kind of gravity pull to "Barrons Hotel (I, To, Thee.)". The kind that doesn't pull you in all at once but slowly wraps itself around your senses. The song is off-kilter, to say the least. I picked so much new influences than the typical ambient, drone, and post-rock embellishments. At times, as I said, I felt like Frank Ocean's nostalgia lingers in between notes. At others, some Bon Iver 22, A Million references, especially towards the end of the songs. Of course, these are all channeled through my own prism and emotions. At the end of the day, this is a prime example of how Purelink and Rainy Miller's creativity
coalesce. To me, it seems that they are a match made in heaven. Regardless of how they crossed paths, it was meant to be.

This song is my reason to love music today.
