I first stumbled across Sheffield-based musician Conor Stephenson aka. The Half Earth last May when he supported Rae Morris at the stunning Wilton's Music Hall in Central London. Performing alone with his guitar, Stephenson's stripped back, atmospheric sound was a revelation to my ears, gripping my absolute attention with his reverb-heavy guitars and powerful, intoxicating falsetto.

Following a debut single around that time, The Half Earth is finally back with new material in the shape of "Borders", the first track to be unveiled from his debut EP Light Breaks In. With an extraordinary depth, "Borders" is a delicate, electronic-tinged folk number that's complex instrumental layering and angelic vocals allows the track to soar. Full of passion and precision, "Borders" is a listening delight.
