These guys are the living proof that the Australians are not only good in playing bearded folk songs. Just like Flume shows a great example of an Australian electro scene, Thundamentals deliver some quality rap.

As much as I am not a hip-hop fan these guys just got me. One of their latest releases "Smiles Don’t Lie" has just become available on iTunes and you can check out other tracks on their Soundcloud. They have released one EP and two full length albums the first being their self-titled EP Thundamentals in 2009, followed by Sleeping On Your Style in 2010 and Foreverlution in 2011.

I do like the easy warm vibe coming from this track. I think soft jazzy hip-hop is the best out there (this is just my humble opinion, mind you). The song is also very deep lyrics-wise and has some sentimental touch to it.

They have also covered my favourite Matt Corby and you can check out their vision of "Brother" here.
