Thundercat has collaborated with an impressive group of musicians. From Kendrick Lamar to Flying Lotus to Kamasi Washington, he seems to have a knack for associating himself with the premier artists of their genre.
At first, the names listed next to his most recent single, "Show You The Way" kinda threw me off. Michael McDonald or Kenny Loggins, no offense, would not have been my first (or thousandth) guess for a feature on a Thundercat track. But before you judge, just listen to the song. This unpredictability and atypicality are part of what make Thundercat one of the most exciting
bassists artists around today. The other names to be featured on the upcoming release are Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick, and Pharrell.
Thundercat's new album, Drunk, is scheduled to be released February 24th on Flying Lotus's label, Brainfeeder. You can pre-order the album here--just peep that red vinyl. He has a world tour scheduled to accompany the album as well (check his artist profile for more info).
