Tour-Maubourg's newest body of work, The Panorama Session Vol. 2, is a warm, nostalgic journey that sets the perfect backdrop to unwinding at a hazy late-night lounge or even in your living room.
A conversation about jazz house would be incomplete without mentioning the French-Belgian producer Tour-Maubourg. The track "An Ode to Love" was my gateway into his world back in 2020, and it's been a delight watching his evolution. The Panorama Session Vol. 2 is adorned with a range of stellar tracks, however, "Stay" stood out as the most energetic piece, along with its extended dub version. Sax arrangements seamlessly float over the dreamy pads and riveting rhythm section, and we're also acquainted with a charming vocal sample that solidifies the track's comforting charm. Everything changes towards the end as "Stay" becomes grittier, harder, and fierce to set the stage for an epic curtain closer.
