Temporal Sequence

Tropics’ Nocturnal Soul has left an important mark on my taste, and for that, I would be forever grateful.

I woke up to the news of the return of the LA-based producer, and what a return that is. Christopher’s brand-new single, "Temporal Sequence," feels like the soundtrack to a dystopian, futuristic film unfolding in a world inspired by Twin Peaks.

It's 5:45 AM right now, and these dense clouds have wrapped around the hills of my city. My wife is away for a work trip, so I'm all alone, and I couldn't think of a better soundtrack to this heavy, melancholic morning. The view is staggering, and so is this song.

I love the haunting synths Tropics uses to build a foundation for this gorgeous, atmospheric trip-hop-inspired atmosphere. Add his vocals, and you've got a true masterpiece.

Now, with this newfound dark energy, I need to go and hit the gym.
