Today, we celebrate new beginnings.

After many years of performing with other talented artists on stage (including Toshiki Soejima), the Japanese keyboardist Yoshitaka Utano decided it's time to show more of his original work to the world and launch his solo moniker UTone. Earlier this year, we connected him with TromBobby, and their joint Outset EP is now out everywhere.

Blending magnificent jazz piano with live drums, horns, and basslines, UTone and TromBobby seamlessly bridged the worlds of nu jazz, jazz fusion, and beats into something that feels as if Robert Glasper and J Dilla collaborated.

"Gold In The Dust" showcases that perfectly, but I highly recommend streaming/buying the full project here.
