Meet Major League, a young American band, that released their debut full length record last year. I dare to say that with Hard Feelings (released on No Sleep Records) they definitely started playing in the major league of pop punk.

The album has eleven songs which revolve around friendships, relationships and family issues. Although it covers such serious matters, Hard Feelings sounds completely positive and is really fun to listen to. It is one of those records that hooks you up immediately and you need to play the whole thing on repeat for hours just to get enough of it. The lyrics are quite smart and are written with a lot of passion which is really remarkable for such a young band. Still the lyrics aren't the only thing on this record that makes an impression. Major League's sound has evolved a lot since their The Truth Is... EP from 2010. Instead of being just another pop punk band they managed to find a sound that suits them so well and will definitely take them places.

The strongest track on the album for me would be "Homewrecker". This song is so personal and emotional that it doesn't even matter if the story is based on personal experience or not...you can just feel the frustration and sing along with the same passion. This is how the song ends.

"...So I thought I'd let you know That my father's twice the man That you could ever be And when your son grows up I hope he sees the coward and the crook The house you shook And the world you took away from me..."

Other stand out tracks are: "Walk Away"; "Landslide" and "Need I Remind You".

If Major League manage to stay together and countinue working as hards as they have till now, I expect to hear and see their name more and more. I am a huge sucker for good pop punk, especially hardcore influenced one and Hard Feelings was one of my most played records in 2012, so give it a try!

Stay up to date.
