For those looking to be put under a magical electracoutstic spell then NOWON's new album is your potion. Sydney duo (however I feel musical wizards is a more appropriate title) Charlie Gradon and Owen Redmond have released their EP That Was Then//A Preparation consisting of tracks to enhance your day from sunrise to sunset. Starting at the top, "Begin" makes you feel like you're opening your eyes from a dream to a summers day, following on to "Stay In Nature" preparing you for your day ahead and features dreamy harmonised vocals and catchy backing beats. I was really intrigued by the the fourth track in the album and upon looking into the translation I discovered in Japanese this term is "an empathy toward things" which quite honestly, made this collaboration discovery really magical. The track reflects the translation and is an honest and profound mix of intrumentals and synth. The title song "That Was Then//A Preparation" and "Cladagh Glen" complete the EP with a meditative quality, you just want to close your eyes and float.

The EP transported me from morning awakening to the buzz of my lunch hour to the chilled moments evenings can bring. Definitely worth a listen. P.s found underneath the duos Band Camp’s profile was this quote, let it sink in.

A reflection of what was, through the eyes of what is I'm not far away from here and now and I'm feeling it all.
