July 31st is a great day for music. After Rival Consoles' Articulation earlier today, we're in fro another treat from the UK. The buildup for Romare's new album Home started in September 2019 then the UK producer dropped the Gone / Danger 12" on Ninja Tune.

The release of the record comes after a lifetime of being on the move. Romare spent his childhood traveling constantly with his family as his parents moved around the world for work, before finally settling in the UK. This nomadic lifestyle would continue with his burgeoning career as a musician and playing hundreds of live shows across the globe. This series of events brings us to Home, marking a new chapter in his life with a move out of London to the countryside and starting a family, a move which has "given me peace and quiet" he comments.

I had the chance to listen to the whole release twice now and besides the obvious previous winners like "Gone", "Sunshine" and "The River", I want to highlight 2 tracks - the sense of urgency "Dreams" creates and the amount of happiness "You See" exhales. It's the kind of lonesome morning sunrise track to play while raving on the edge of a cliff. I don't know, there's a beautiful solitude drenched in the whole release actually. I can't pinpoint what exactly it is, but damn - this hits me close to home.

For the Spotify users, here's the album below. Hit the play button.
