The time has come for Hertless Breakers' debut EP called Prescriptions to be released and we at Stereofox are proud and pleased to be a part of the band's journey so far.

Heartless Breakers have indeed prepared for us four "prescriptions" for a medicine I find to be better than most. The first one is "Daily Rstraint" and we already reviewed it here but still, you better watch the video below. The song is a great album opener and shows exatly what you are in for - catchy riffs and melodies, clever lyrics and as the band intended - the music "medicine" we all need. It only gets better from here on.

The second track is "Bitter Melodies" - my personal favorite which we covered here. Well...this song definitely has the potential of being an anthem and if it's not there yet I'm sure that it will be soon enough. I can see myself singing along the chorus at live shows and it seems so epic in my mind. "Bitter Melodies" just has this youth spirit/feeling to it...the desire for something more, the hope for better times and the post-teen angst.

What follows on Prescriptions is "Morals & Motive" - the song that surprised me the most. The lyrics are really impressive on this one and Heartless Breakers' potential as a band shines so bright here. The song is like a letter to a friend or just someone you know who has either lost the way or trying to find it. "Morals & Motive" is written, sung and played beautifully.

The last song on the EP is "Monologue" and somehow after several plays it seems like the best way to close Prescriptions. This song shows again how good is that band in writing catchy choruses and lyrics you will be singing later. I found myself replaying "Monologue" few times and enjoying it more and more with every listen.

So just to sum it up, this is a greatly done debut and I already feel the need for another prescription. I'm eager to see what the future holds for Heartless Breakers and can only hope that I will have the opportunity of seeing them life!

The official release of Prescriptions is tomorrow July 23rd so make sure to purchase it here or on the band's bandcamp page.

"Cheers to the day"
