What a soothing, soulful way to end a busy week, thanks to US/London-based singer-songwriter and producer Alyx Bell and her self-produced latest single "Out Of My Mind", combining influences from D’Angelo to Joni Mitchell and encouraging the listener to stay grounded in the present despite the seemingly urgent pressures of daily life.
In 2022, Alyx quit her job as a mechanical engineer in the US and moved across the world to pursue music in London. Leading up to this, she spent two years being mentored in music production by London’s Jordan Rakei, gaining the confidence and skill to produce her own music. Since moving to London, Alyx Bell has performed at Sofar Sounds events across the city, opened for fast-rising band Yuuf, and recently sold out her first ever headline show at Morocco Bound. She has also been noticed on social media for her intricate harmony arrangements and innovative production, using household items such as sauce pans and pizza boxes to create beats.
