Have you heard of Indiana? Not the state, the girl! Today, Indiana from Nottingham released a video to her song "Animal". It is a bit over 4 minutes long but I felt it double that time and not in a bad way. The deep gradual melody with beats as frequent as your heart pumps seems to slow things down. Her voice is haunting and the voice effect that is used really leaves a memorable imprint on your mind.

In the beginning of the song, that second "poison" made me think of Björk. Not that Indiana's voice sounds similar to hers but it is what they have in common - specific therefore easily distinguishable. To be more precise I really like how she plays with the intonation and the pronunciation of the words. "Fathers hold your daughters I will hold myself ...instead. This part is playful, intelligently crafted. So is the final one with the quiet chanting of "animal, animal, animal".

p.s. I hope Tinkabelle finds her way back home.
