Before I begin, I'd like to encourage you to please press play and enjoy the incredible This Town Needs Guns track "If I Sit Still, Maybe I'll Get Out Of Here" to accompany the text below.

Just about a year ago, I got invited along to a gig in Brighton. This gig was put on by the collaborative team of Noisey and music giants Philips, and showcased some of the greatest up and coming talent the music scene had to offer. Obviously the gig was sick, (check out the line up and our preview to find out why) and the following freshers tour up and down the UK paid testament to this new musical partnership going by the name of YNTHT (You Need To Hear This).

I was lucky enough to pick up a pair of Philips headphones at the gig and, not knowing too much about headphones, thought I'd give them a blast to see what the fuss was about. Needless to say, I was pretty blown away by how much better they were than my go-to pair. Epic audio quality aside, the sound cancellation was next to none, letting me listen to my music as loud as I wanted without annoying sleeping tramps on the bus (an ever present threat for any city dweller). Even more unbelievably, these headphones are still working, and still sound as great as the day I got them. Zero dip in sound quality, still in one piece and I still haven't been chased form the number 25 by any napping drug addicts. Not too shabby.

Philips are introducing their new CitiScape line of headphones, and if the quality of my powerhouses are anything to go by, I'm pretty confident these are going to be phenomenal. Taking into account the wants and requirements of music fans, the headphones boast sturdy framework (they'll last ya), super comfy cushioning (they'll love ya), and finely crafted noise reducing 'MusicSeal' (they'll protect ya from aforementioned crazy people).

With Noisy and Philips continuing their successive partnership, it's a sure thing that we can expect top of the line gear coming our way. Shoot over to the You Need To Hear This website to ogle the beautiful new new designs and pick your favorite here and follow them on twitter and facebook for up to date info on the brand.
