Last time we touched points with Noisey's You Need To Hear This, we shared with you a mind-blowing performance by Dels at a tunnel underneath the Brunel Museum.  This time around, Noisey and Philips have embarked on an ambitious partnership with electronic artist Sebastian Gainsborough aka Vessel, and the Liverpool based Immix Ensemble for an awesome coupling of music and art at the Tate Modern in London.

The project is in keeping with the You Need To Hear This mantra of experimenting with interesting and exciting ways to experience music, encouraging forays into unexplored territory. With the Immex Ensemble incooperating elements of saxaphone and violin and Vessel's production pedigree, the final result is as intriguing as the art around it. Vessel says of the project:

"...the size of the room, the vaulted ceiling, all this art on the walls; it's just not a place where we're used to hearing music. It's a silent place, it's a place for contemplation of visual art. So to have this music in the space filling it up.. Yeah, it's a great thing."

With the series of compelling live events and the release of the Philips Citiscape headphones, You Need To Hear This is challenging the way we listen to music. As music constantly evolves and revolutionises itself, it makes sense that the way we appreciate it will change too. Introducing a visual element to the performance alongside Vessel and the Immix Ensemble is artist Sam Weihl. Weaving into the classical and historical paintings of the Tate, Weihl's modern take on the medium perfectly complements the experimental nature of the event.
