Few weeks ago, a friend of mine has shared this video with me saying "Tiens. Ca va te plaire." (basically meaning "you will love it" in French).

Two options came up to me: either I'm really predictable, either my friend knows me really well - I'm gonna go with the last one yeah?
As a matter of fact, this video triggers so many soft-spots in me. To begin with, it was shot in a peculiar place - a water tank in the depth of Lorient, in Brittany. The place has been beautifully staged to host Samifati's disorientating music, which beats are nicely embodied by visual projections made by Axel Vanlerberghe.
Secondly, everything from the title "Lotus" to the music reminds me of Asia and the Middle East. "Lotus" thus guides us on a Silky road led by a femine and aery humming, wagging percussion loops, steady beats and... a violin. Here comes my strongest soft-spot!
The first instrument I got to learn was actually the violin. It was the violin that introduces me into music. And somehow, "Lotus" brings out all theses first emotions to me again.

"Lotus" is part of Samifati debut EP Chaï - that you can listen to here.

Stay up to date.
