Leah Kardos is a London-based composer, producer and pianist. Her music combines live instrumental performance with technology and found sounds. She views the studio – and the infinite choices afforded by digital tools – as expressive instruments in their own right. Her work often adopts a particular limitation: in Feather Hammer (2011) she used a single piano, while Machines (2013) is a song cycle using only spam emails as lyrics.

Leah is fascinated by psychoacoustic phenomena, timbre, and small changes that can lead to completely different effects. Introducing chance elements into the creative process, she uses improvisation, dice and a deck of Oblique Strategy cards to steer her work in unexpected directions.
