Before the L.A.-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Auxjack found the meditative lofi beats, he was a part of an emo and pop-punk band back in the day. Fast forward a few years, he got a Grammy nomination for his work as an engineer on J Cole’s album 2014 Forest Hills Drive.
Auxjack's serious musical background allows him to lay out his beats from scratch as the chill sounds float above them organically. "Reel Two Reel" twists around your tired minds with mellow keys, and guitars, giving you the right mood for a night in. It's 1/4 of the EP Nesting where every track "was created in a different headspace as we brace ourselves for impending parenthood," as he explains in his Instagram profile.
