“Holding On To The End” not only captures the stellar chemistry between Banyan and Six Hills, but it also creates such a comforting listening experience for us to immerse ourselves in.

Banyan opens the track up with dreamy synths that eventually complement the soothing vocal presence of Six Hills. As the track progresses, the soundscape swells, allowing the melodies and vocals to bloom together and fall right into an impressive anti-drop. Here, it’s Banyan’s melodic arrangements that take center stage along with the sound design while Hills’ vocals seemlessly float across the background. Bright leads and atmospheric pads breathe life into the track towards the second half, creating a mesmerising contrast between its dreamy textures and intricate sound design.

The latest release from FAKE SUEDE “Growing Apart” is heavily embellished with a tasteful nostalgic flair thanks to the uplifting vocals here and dreamy instrumentation.

FAKE SUEDE is the brainchild of Nashville-to-LA-based songwriter and vocalist Jeffrey James, and with this project, he aims to balance the vibes of neo-soul and classic Motown with modern bedroom pop. This is exactly what we’re acquainted with on “Growing Apart”, especially as the chorus comes to life. His vocals in this section remind us of a different era while the instrumentals hit the sweet spot between modernity and retro warmth. Smooth, airy synths float lightly across the background to complement his soothing vocal performance throughout. This is really one of my favorite finds this week!

Danish, London-based singer Marie Dahlstrom unveils her third studio album MARIE. After a few upfront singles, including a collaboration with Jords and the summery “1 Journey Away” with Elijah Fox on the synths, the full 11-track LP is out today on her own JFH Records.

Created over a couple of years in between London, Copenhagen, and LA, MARIE explores the “building of a grounded and meaningful life while existing between cities, cultures, and creative worlds” and reflects on “family, distance, belonging and adulthood.”

The album takes a jazzier approach than her previous more neo-soul/r&b-leaning LPs Like Sand and A Good Life. A perfect showcase of that is the focus track “Joined,” featuring the full Butcher Brown band – with honeyed vocals, an intoxicating rhythm, and distant horns, recorded with real instruments.

Dahlstrom shares, “I made a voice note on the piano, just simple vocals and piano, and sent it to Corey [Fonville, of Butcher Brown]. Him and the guys went straight to the studio and recorded Joined. It was a really cool way to get their interpretation of the demo. The song is about my 2nd son Levi, and how he has joined our family together in a new, stronger way.”

A collaboration between South African producers Orecchiette and Tojiè Cai, born from a shared love of groove, melody, and playful arrangement, “We Good?” leans into off-kilter rhythms, percussion, and soulful melodic interplay.

I just realised that Orecchiette’s (Pascal Righini) artist alias comes from the name of an Italian pasta shape, translating to “little ears”. It seems pretty fitting that his mission is to make beats to chill, study, or eat pasta to. So, take this as your sign to cook some pasta tonight, maybe open a nice bottle of red, and put this track on. It pairs perfectly with our chill beats selection and, more importantly, with a relaxed evening and good times.

The Frankfurt duo Blair / Huber are back with an electrifying new piece featuring percussionist Khadim Seck, teasing their upcoming debut album ECLIPSE, due October 16th.

Beautifully stripped-back, “TITAN” relies on nothing more than saxophone, electric guitar, percussion, and their magic. That rich saxophone tone drew me in from the very first note and didn’t let go, playing around with different intensities and the listener’s expectations. Meanwhile, the rhythm section holds everything together with a beautiful, calm, drone-like pulse. A meditative listening experience that doesn’t really need many more words – just sit back and let yourself get lost in it.

Meet Nyota Parker – a Montreal-based rapper, singer and songwriter of Congolese and Irish heritage, originally raised in Cape Town, South Africa. Yep, that’s quite the melting pot of cultures, and it inevitably finds its way into her art. And damn, what a sound that is.

A cool fact about Nyota – she coined the term trazz for her blend of jazzy rhythms, soul, and trap production. Now that’s a vibe. Today we’re flying high thanks to her latest single, “SAY LESS”, released on September 4th. As soon as I hit that play button, I got those power-up goosebumps. The kind of song that feels unapologetic and helps you lock in from the get-go.

We’ve been keeping an eye on Leeds-based 3-piece Gotts Street Park since 2020, and whoa, so much has happened since then!

After an extremely well-received debut, the guys are getting ready for their biggest London headline show yet, taking over the Roundhouse on Nov 25th (our team might actually be there!). The show will be a celebration of their second studio album, Somewhere Between, which we’ll be able to enjoy on October 16th.

And honestly, the guest list alone has me curious. We’re talking Celeste, Olive Jones, Pip Millett, Matt Maltese, Sofia & The Antoinettes, anaiis, and Rosie Lowe. Quite the galaxy of collaborators, who we love and have supported on Stereofox before.

The record already feels like something a little out of this world, and today’s spotlight goes to “Flowers”, featuring Pip Millett. Nasko sent me the track this morning, and I felt such a nice, laid-back Sunday soul energy on my walk. Groovy, yet warm and a true homage to soul’s golden age.

It’s a noticeable shift from the soul, jazz, and hip-hop-inflected sound of their previous work. On Somewhere Between, Gotts Street Park plans to lean further into folk, psychedelia, blues, and Americana. I absolutely appreciate the change and the testing of new things, so naturally – can’t wait for Somewhere Between to drop.

Naturally, it’s on our upcoming albums of 2026 excitement list. Shall we listen together?

It’s been a really exciting year for ISHA, and it was all leading to her debut album, out today.

The 24-year-old Dutch, London-based producer, bass player, composer, and singer unveiled the full 12-track LP Feel At Home, released via Sidekick Music. Blending influences from funk, indietronica, disco, jazz, and even alt-pop, ISHA has written, produced, and crafted the project entirely independently.

The title track captures the energy of the album. ISHA explores themes like identity, queerness, evolving relationships, and generational trauma, while coming back to the idea of finding a sense of home within yourself.

She elaborates, “For me, home is tied to London. It shows up in the small fragments of life there: a pint with your mates, the pace of the city moving around you. This is why sonically I wanted to bring it back to the dancefloor. It’s where I feel most free, where there’s no boundary of language, where music is the one thing everything in the room understands”

Led by a four-to-the-floor beat and bassline, the track serves as a reminder that the album is made for dancing, leaning into ISHA’s recognisable funk-infused electronic sound. Make sure to check out Feel At Home in full:

I had the privilege of hearing this before its official release, and honestly, I couldn’t wait for it to drop, so I can spin it on repeat. One of the catchiest pieces I’ve come across in a while.

UK singer Loie shares a new single called “Run For The Hills”. She created it in a Brooklyn studio with producer HOOTS while on a solo trip, trying to “get some clarity on a complicated situationship” back home. Ironically, the very thing she was trying to get away from became the inspiration for the song.

She adds, “Run For The Hills” is a playful take on the fear of falling in love – and knowing when it’s time to escape. What started as a trip to get away from the problem naturally became a track about doing exactly that: running before you fall too hard.”

Playful, a little cheeky, both groovy and incredibly smooth, “Run For The Hills” carries Loie’s signature warmth we love so much, with a range of UK urban influences – blending neo-soul, alt-r&b, indie pop, and everything in between.
