Without doubt the album that I have most been looking forward to getting my hands on is Half Moon Run's tricky second album "Sun Leads Me On".

Hot on the heels of the albums debut track "Trust", "Turn Your Love" provides another shining example of what makes the Montreal boys so unique in a packed pool of stand-out indie-rock groups.

Its no hesitation to say that Half Moon Run's debut album "Dark Eyes" has been one of my favourite albums from the last coupe of years and one that I return to on a regular basis. Consequently I just can't help approaching each new HMR release with an equal mixture of excitement and hide-behind-the-sofa style trepidation. In a situation like this, you pray for much of the same with maybe a suicidal whisper in the back of your mind that secretly hopes for a tad of progression to keep you hooked for at least the next 3 years.

So two tracks in to "Sun Leads Me On" and where are we? Well "Trust" was the pioneering track for the band, and I absolutely adored it (& still listen to it daily a month on). "Turn Your Love" is the much of the same track and to be honest any fears that I had from "Trust" that HMR had progressed beyond all recognition have literally been obliterated.

Half Moon Run are back - roll on October 23rd.
