As soon as you hit play, “Sensitive” melts you with its magnificent drum-trumpet intro that fosters a different kind of sexiness. One that puts your mind at ease, as opposed to overwhelming it with questions, high highs, and low lows; the kind of (neo) soul-level intimacy that equates pure alignment of the minds and sensitivity of the hearts.

The delicious new track is delivered by Melbourne-based artist Hugh Klein and our friends at Lekker Collective. Here’s what Klein says about the resonance and inspiration behind it:

To me, there is nothing more intimate than two minds that completely understand each other. ‘Sensitive’ pays homage to this concept & is designed to bring your attention to the details - to sit in the groove and realise the underlying narrative the arrangement delivers. In its initial stages, I was frequently consuming a large amount of piano-centric jazz ballads and low & felt neo-soul with tight and fast percussive elements - what has been a point of interest in a vast number of current jazz musicians. Finding particular underlying patterns & rhythmic ideas in these faster grooves is a real challenge, though equally exciting. The track was completely felt out & recorded over multiple jam sessions between keys/vocals and the initial groove.”

To those who’ve experienced such kind of sensuality IRL - you’ll appreciate how the blend of indie electronic and contemporary R&B intertwine to create a “Sensitive” experience that will have you reliving that deepest level of human connection. And to everyone else - just play the track anyway, your heart and dreams need it.
