This is perhaps the most mellow track we've featured in a while, but it was about time I brought my love for melancholic love ballads to Stereofox.
"Bracing the Fall" is the focus track from San Francisco singer-songwriter Madeleine Rose's debut EP, Strangers, released just yesterday. Sitting at the emotional heart of the project, the song explores the delicate balance between fear and surrender.
I was instantly drawn in by Madeleine's voice. She sings with just the perfect balance of vulnerability, restraint, and emotional honesty, as if she's sitting across from you, telling her story while unnoticedly taking you somewhere far away from Earth and into her own world. Shoutout to Scott Goldbaum for the beautiful guitar work and understated production. Those two complement each other effortlessly, and I really hope this won't be the last time they collaborate.
"This project reflects my journey back to my voice and the part of myself I thought I’d lost along the way. Every song captures a different stage of that journey - from grief and change to growth and learning to trust myself again 🤍", Madeleine shared on her Instagram.
If this is what her debut sounds like, we can't wait to see where her future projects take her.
