We first fell in love with Mizan when we heard her very soulful track, "No Fool." This time, she's back with the release of a new single off her Dark Blue EP. Of the two tracks released so far, one of them being the aforementioned "No Fool", she shows the world not only her soul capabilities, but a side of her more influenced by pop. "Anxious," at the very least, sounds happy. She sings about wanting more than what she's really got, but what can you expect, no offense Yankees, from a New Yorker? The track is driven by a classy and simple beat, which pair excellently with her silky smooth vocals. Overall, an enjoyable, much more upbeat step away from her previous work.
Mizan is one of my acts to watch for 2013. She has pleasantly pleased and surprised me with each release, and I can't wait to see what's next.
