“Use Your Noggin” is the fourth single from Dutch trio .multibeat’s forthcoming third album, OOO, arriving on September 25th via the esteemed Berlin Sonar Kollektiv.
Blending jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary beat culture, the track is built around tight live drums, warm basslines, jazz-infused keys, and playful synth hooks. Inspired by the trio’s marathon GeoGuessr sessions and YouTube rabbit holes during the album sessions, it's an energetic instrumental that sits somewhere between Robert Glasper, BADBADNOTGOOD, Alfa Mist, and Blue Lab Beats.
This was my first time discovering .multibeat, so naturally, I had a little nosey through their previous singles leading up to the release. They sounded right up my alley - bold, modern, groovy, and soulful. What more could a person want? I'll definitely be pre-saving the album, and I highly recommend you go and explore their music too.
