“Control It” is a great example of cooperation between musicians, which besides representing different eras, are also representing the same family.
Nightmare and Sleepy, consisting of a father and a son, is a music and art collective focusing on all aspects of hip hop. The duo, made up of Jovan Jr., aka "Sleepy" and Jovan Sr., aka "Nightmare"- combine their mastery and understanding of music from their respected eras in order to create while learning from one another. Hence the fusion of influences in their music, which in my opinion led to a pretty balanced and pleasant result. In “Control It”, they are joined by the talented Destro.
Blending r&b and hip hop, the track is super vibey, with the vocals being a perfect mixture of bars and singing. A great tune, which you’ll surely have on repeat.
