A heartwarming journey through the ‘beauty and brokenness of what it is to be a human being’ – “These Experiences”, which I have the pleasure to premiere today, transmits authentic emotions and provides us with food for thought.

The track is part of nomoon’s upcoming EP Cycles - a visceral and personal introduction to the nomoon project. The EP explores the idea that ‘normal’ life is constantly evolving, confusing, beautiful, and scary, all in one mess of liveliness - there are ups and downs, joys and pains, and expressing these moments with honesty can help us process and feel less alone.

“These Experiences” was inspired by the Human Podcast by Jess Mills. The song samples a clip from an episode, with guest Clover Stroud, named ‘The Agony and Ecstasy of Loss.’ The duo elaborates:

It resonated in lockdown with both the loss of freedoms and the much more painful, close to home losses of much loved people. The song is a journey through that grief with both sad and hopeful moments, with Jess Mill’s words at the centre becoming the mantra that ties it all together. The music video, all filmed from a laptop web camera, tries to capture both the slowness and emotional waves that happen in day-to-day life, in lockdown too, but really whenever we’re alone. We wanted to capture the journey that happens during mundane tasks when no-one’s looking, and how we’re left after connecting with people digitally and through objects like photographs.

A truly touching track, "These Experiences" will certainly give you a taste of the EP, coming out tomorrow.
