When I first came across the track, "Falcon" from the New York based artist, Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez, I was instantly transfixed on the combination of soulful vocals and lovely jazz keys. Opening the song with a beautiful, downtempo chord progression and laid back melody, "Falcon" is a gorgeous song that showcases the powerful and soulful range of Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez.
On top of the amazing production, the lyrics present a vivid story and one that can easily resonate with anyone. In the opening line she states, "I've seen worse things than the love of another, when you dissolve and your body is recovered, battles are sworn and the light is in trouble."
I look forward to her future releases and the possibility of seeing her perform live someday - in the meantime, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of "Falcon."
