From the visual aesthetic to the production and vocal performance, Rapsody takes us down memory lane and acquaints us with a pure style of neo-soul reminiscent of the early 2000s.
This serves as the second single from Rapsody's upcoming album God Gotta Afro & Gold Hoops, and it was the first time I heard her sing from start to finish - going beyond the realms of hip hop. Her voice is a mixture of uplifting and sensual, and this delivery emphasizes the romantic lyricism throughout the track. The soft electronic keys sparkle next to the organ, and their combination summons the kind of soulfulness that is wholesome and seamlessly spreads good energy all around. This is definitely one of my favorite releases from Rapsody from her entire catalog.
