In celebration of both Throwback Thursday and October, I had to share one of my all-time favorite songs.

This hidden gem was only released on the Japanese version of The Reign of Kindo's 2008 album Rhythm, Chord & Melody. The Buffalo, New York natives blend jazzy indie rock with piano-pop to create a unique sound. Crisp, vibrant vocals, exceptional piano, and melodious instrumentation blend beautifully with brilliant lyrics, symbolic of something much greater, deeper.

"No matter what storms you've seen

No matter the broken dreams

you've yet to see mend

Consider the battered trees

Their leaves dancing in the breeze

Recalling no memory of October’s storm"

Be sure to check out The Reign of Kindo’s newest album, Play With Fire, that came out this past July.

Listen below or watch them perform live in the studio and get swept away by October's Storm.
