I've got a little gift for anyone who loves the cinematic soundscapes of Portishead, Zero 7, and UNKLE, topped with haunting, alluring vocals.
I had the pleasure of meeting Stefan Germanov earlier this year, and in just a few conversations, I had the feeling I was talking to an old friend. A great human full of cool stories, founder of Amadea Music and a talented musician, I have to be honest - Stefan blew my mind with his new release, "V-Motion", featuring talented Bulgarian singer Dara Doneva (part of Red Light District Project). Shoutout to the rest of the crew involved with the production - Gueorgui Linev (AKA Kan Wakan) and Georgi Stanev, who have added their flair to the composition.
"V-Motion" borrows the groove of funk and effortlessly slides into the world of chillout electronica. Blending trip-hop and downtempo, it radiates a sense of mysticism and quiet momentum, the kind that sparks curiosity with every passing section. What instantly drew me in was the chorus and the guitar licks that follow. That one hits hard. Also, if the track leaves you with an irresistible urge to wander, there's a good reason for that.
"I had started working on a funk song, but in the meantime, I went on a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. I wasn’t prepared in any way, and the experience made a strong impression on me, especially the nature and the people. The trip wasn’t easy - in 12 days, I took 7 flights, buses, boats, rickshaws… and the jostling planted an idea in my head for a new track, definitely with a theme - travel. I grabbed my phone and, mumbling to myself, recorded the idea. After that, I started filming the passing landscapes, and everything that was happening that could potentially make it into a music video," he elaborates.
