A few hours ago (yes, I've been waiting for this), Kenyan hip-hop/neo-soul artist and producer Nyathigi Gatere graced us with her brand-new EP, Besides you.
The 6-track release features 2 tracks that defined my hip hop summer - "So Bad" and "Clutch My Bag"- and it’s time to add more to that collection.
My spotlight of the day shines on "Squeeze me?". Sexy, confident, and the embodiment of dope. Nyathigi shares, “It's a little crazy very insecure but also really cute. When I was making it I was thinking about that moment when you have a crush and it’s nice but also not and it drives you crazy. When can I tell this person about how much I want to be with just them? How soon is too soon to say i'm more than just attracted to you? That's the feeling i'm trying to capture.”
